INCubatoredu at Barrington High School: Real-World Learning in Action
At Barrington High School, INCubatoredu challenges students to move beyond traditional classroom learning by identifying real problems, developing solutions, and building businesses. Through hands-on entrepreneurship experiences, students gain the skills, confidence, and connections to turn their ideas into reality.
From Classroom Ideas to Real Businesses
Students engage in customer discovery, product development, prototyping, marketing, and financial planning. The video highlights HoldMate, a student-founded business that created a unique retainer holder, sold about 1,500 units, pitched to more than 30 orthodontist investors, and reached millions through social media.
Learning Alongside Business Mentors
Local entrepreneurs and business professionals bring real-world experience into the classroom, offering feedback, industry expertise, and connections. Students learn to navigate challenges, adapt their ideas, and communicate with confidence.
Building Skills That Last Beyond High School
The experience culminates in Pitch Night, where selected teams present their businesses to investors for real seed funding. Funded companies can continue into ACCELeratoredu to grow their businesses.
The impact extends far beyond entrepreneurship. Students develop critical thinking, collaboration, resilience, and problem-solving skills that prepare them to create value in college, careers, and life.
