About the Event

Q1: What is National Pitch?

The INCubatoredu National Pitch brings together five student teams from across the nation and Spain to pitch their businesses to a board of startup business investors and compete for funding at the national level.

Q2: Where and when is the National Pitch?

National Pitch will occur at Convene in Chicago, Illinois, during the 2024 Uncharted Learning National Summit on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Participants should arrive midday to prepare for the pitch event that will take place in the early evening.

Q3: What does the team need to submit?

Submission requirements have changed a bit from years past. The changes allow judges to glean better information demonstrating the business’s stability and growth potential. Teams will submit basic business information and supporting documents.  A document to help prepare your submission can be found here.

Q4: When and how does a team submit

Nominations open Friday, March 29, 2024, at 8:00 AM CST and are due by Friday, May 24, 2024, at 5:00 PM CST. Each INCubatoredu member school can nominate one student team to represent their program. Either the teacher or student nominee should complete THIS FORM.

Q5:  Can a teacher submit more than one team?

We ask that you submit only one team to compete in the National Pitch competition; however, if you want to share what multiple teams are doing, we encourage you to share their stories with Michelle!

Q6: Do my students have to travel to Chicago to pitch?

Yes. We ask student teams to pitch live in Chicago on July 17, 2024. We understand that all team members may not be able to attend; however, we ask that a majority of members attend.  Questions about logistics?  Reach out to me.

Q4: Is the event open to the public?

Finalist teams may invite mentors and families to attend the event. Teams must submit attendee names closer to the event date. The event will also be live-streamed.

Q8: When will we know the results?

A committee of judges will review all submissions to identify:

  • 25 quarter-finalists by May 31, 2024
  • Ten semi-finalists by June 7, 2024
  • Five finalists and two alternates by June 12, 2024
