Featuring Student Entrepreneurship Competition and Showcasing Next-Generation Innovators

The innovative high school entrepreneurship program that is reinventing business curriculum – INCubatoredu – will host its annual national summit in Chicago in July for educators and collaborators from its 90-plus member schools across 15 states. The summit runs July 18-20 at Loyola University in Chicago and gathers educators, entrepreneurs, and experts to explore best practices for teaching entrepreneurship to high school students.

The school’s first INCubatoredu course, aimed at teaching students entrepreneurship by having them team up to fully develop their own product or service, is wrapping up for the school year. Five of the 10 student groups will be chosen to pitch their business proposal to the public, and perhaps potential investors.

Across the U.S., a growing movement is teaching kids to become entrepreneurs–or at least how to think like entrepreneurs. In fact, organizations like INCubatoredu, are actually shaping students’ core school lessons around entrepreneurship.

Since launching in 2013, the nonprofit has scaled their entrepreneurship education programs from one Illinois high school to teaching 2,000 students across eight states.

This experience has solidified my confidence that we are in good hands as the millennials start taking control in the business world.We just completed our third school year and the results have been nothing short of extraordinary.

"There's a big push from educators who are highly interested in adopting experiential learning programs for students," Miles said. "INCubatoredu's concept is that you're actually starting your own business, which means you learn in a totally different lens. You learn by doing."
